| The Houston Senior Center is open
Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. except holidays. Meals
are served from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Persons 60 years of age
or older, and their spouses, are eligible to participate in its'
program. Guests are welcome but must pay an additional cost for
their meals.
Services available through the center include
blood pressure checks, discount cards, speakers, newsletters,
programs, homemakers services, information & referral, low
vision center, senior fitness, tax counseling, telephone reassurance,
transportation and volunteer opportunities.
Activities include band, bingo, bowling, cards,
ceramics, checkers, dominoes, exercise, games, music, parties,
piano, poof ball, pool tables, puzzles, and rummikub.
Seniors are encouraged to consign their craft
creations at the gift shop.
The center is staffed by dedicated volunteers
who donate their time and talents to the elderly and the center.
