"we are able to build the station without any long term debt obligation to the city"

Work continues on the new fire station located next to City Hall. The five thousand square foot building contains five bays to store the City's two fire pumpers and two City busses.  The fifth bay is being fitted for a vehicle wash bay.  The project is being funded from the sale of the previous City Hall and funds left over from the purchase of the last fire truck.  The west and north sides of the building will get a rock exterior to match the City Hall building.  Future improvements include a meeting room, entry feature and landscaping.  City crews have performed  the majority of the construction.  The final cost is estimated to be about $120,000.  Mayor Steve Hutcheson says, "city crews have done a great job on the building and I'm proud of the fact that we are able to build the station without any long term debt obligation to the City".
